This is a key role for someone who is confident leading a team on the shop floor and keeping production running smoothly. You'll be the go-to person for your team during the shift - balancing output targets, quality standards, people management and day-to-day problem solving.Key ResponsibilitiesProduction & OperationsCoordinate daily production activities to meet output targets and deadlinesAllocate labour, materials and equipment to maintain a smooth workflowResolve operational issues quickly to minimise downtimeEnsure machinery is operated correctly and in line with maintenance schedulesLiaise with the maintenance team to address breakdowns and prevent recurring problemsPeople ManagementSupervise, coach and support production operatives during shiftsDeliver or coordinate training on safety, quality and operational proceduresManage attendance, lateness and performance with clear, consistent communicationQuality & ComplianceEnsure all products meet quality specifications and standardsImplement corrective and preventive actions where requiredEnforce safe working practices and ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirementsReporting & PlanningTrack key production metrics including output, scrap, downtime and labour efficiencyPrepare shift reports and communicate any issues to managementDevelop a working understanding of production planning to provide cover during holidays and absencesAbout YouEssential:Previous supervisory or team leader experience in a manufacturing or production environmentConfident managing people, including handling performance and attendance mattersStrong communication skills - able to get the best out of a team while keeping management informedPractical approach to problem-solving on the shop floorGood understanding of health and safety in a manufacturing settingDesirable:Experience monitoring production KPIs and preparing basic reportsFamiliarity with quality control proceduresExposure to production planning or schedulingWhat We're Looking Forsomeone who leads by example, isn't afraid to roll their sleeves up, and can keep a team motivated and on track.
