An established and growing food manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to join its commercial leadership team. This is a key role within the food manufacturing division, responsible for managing strategic customer accounts, driving profitable growth, and delivering commercially successful NPD projects across a diverse client portfolio.
The Role
Working closely with the Head of Sales, you will take ownership of a defined group of key accounts, with responsibility for sales performance, margin delivery, and long-term account development. Key responsibilities include:
* Managing and developing strong, long-term relationships with key customers and supply partners
* Delivering agreed sales, gross profit, volume, and contract compliance targets
* Identifying growth opportunities within existing accounts, including cross-sell and new product opportunities
* Developing and managing detailed account plans for top customers
* Leading customer-driven innovation projects, including NPD and EPD
* Negotiating and managing supply contracts, ensuring full compliance throughout the contractual term
* Producing accurate sales forecasts (monthly, rolling forecasts, and budget cycles)
* Representing the business during customer visits and relevant industry events
About You
* Proven experience in commercial or account management roles within food manufacturing or FMCG
* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence and negotiate at a senior level
* Experience managing complex customer relationships and commercial agreements
* Confident communicator with strong presentation skills
* Highly organised, achievement-focused, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
* Advanced user of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
