Employment Solicitor (1-5 years PQE) – Bournemouth or Southampton Our client, who have grown quickly and organically in recent years, are seeking a talented solicitor to join their well-regarded Employment Team based near Bournemouth. The department advises both individuals and businesses on a full range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, including drafting key employment documents, handling tribunal litigation, advising on settlement negotiations, supporting corporate transactions (such as buy-outs and TUPE transfers), and providing day-to-day HR and employment advice to commercial clients. The ideal candidate will: Be IT literate and quick to learn new systems Be approachable and communicate clearly, without jargon Deliver pragmatic, commercial advice Collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments Work calmly under pressure and take pride in their work Maintain strong client relationships and accountability Essential skills and experience: Qualified Solicitor or CILEx with 1–5byears’ PQE (NQs also considered) Solid understanding of employment law and related procedures Strong written and verbal communication skills Confident negotiator and influencer Motivated to achieve targets and manage workload efficiently Able to identify opportunities for cross-departmental referrals Experience mentoring or supporting junior colleagues Desirable attributes: Excellent organisational and time management skills Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload Business development and networking experience Confidence in representing the firm through events and presentations Key responsibilities: Undertake fee-earning work and contribute to the department’s profitability Support the firm’s ongoing growth and strategic objectives Deliver exceptional, friendly, and jargon-free client service Manage client matters and associated administrative support Participate in firmwide and departmental marketing activities Ensure sound financial management and billing procedures
