Facilities Engineer - Manufacturing Site

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, day shift with early finish on Fridays
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Facilities Engineer to join our team at a leading manufacturing site in Belfast. This role is critical in managing and maintaining site facilities, plant services, and systems, while driving improvements and cost reductions. You will play a key part in ensuring statutory compliance, supporting sustainability initiatives, and enhancing operational efficiency across the site.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support the management and maintenance of site facilities, including electrical, mechanical, fire safety, cranes, forklifts, and other plant equipment.
2. Coordinate statutory inspection contracts and ensure full compliance with legislative requirements.
3. Manage and monitor service contracts (e.g. water, compressors, heating, waste management, equipment calibration).
4. Conduct risk assessments, identifying and addressing safety and environmental hazards.
5. Liaise with suppliers and government agencies regarding audits, permits, reporting, or grants.
6. Develop and implement strategies to reduce energy consumption, minimise waste, and drive environmental performance.
7. Prepare technical specifications, evaluate tenders, and present capital expenditure proposals to senior management.
8. Contribute to internal audits, continuous improvement projects, and efficiency initiatives.
About You
9. Proven experience in facilities, maintenance, or engineering within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
10. Strong knowledge of statutory compliance, health & safety, and environmental regulations.
11. Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
12. Ability to manage multiple projects, liaise with external contractors, and deliver cost-effective solutions.
