Youth Mentor
Milk Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Mentor to work in an Alternative Provision in South Northumberland.
As a Youth Mentor, you’ll support students with behavioural needs, helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. This is a great opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people.
Youth Mentor Key Responsibilities:
* Assist students with behavioural challenges in both one-to-one and group settings.
* Support the development and implementation of individual behaviour plans.
* Provide guidance and positive reinforcement to encourage the students’ social and emotional growth.
* Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to monitor and assess student progress.
* Offer strategies and interventions to help students manage their behaviour and emotions.
* Maintain clear records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents and staff.
* Contribute to the creation of a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Youth Mentor Non-Negotiables:
* Previous experience working with children or young people in a school or support setting
* Understanding of child development, particularly in relation to behaviour and emotional needs.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
* Patience, empathy, and resilience in managing challenging situations.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and supporting children with diverse needs.
* A relevant qualification in education, psychology, or related fields is desirable but not essential.
