What You'll Do
The Safety Specialist will provide leadership to advance the Safety Program and Culture. The role ensures adherence to the organization’s safety policies and objectives.
The Day-to-Day
1. Show commitment to keeping Team Members safe.
2. Collaborate with management to communicate, observe, implement, and execute safety policies and procedures.
3. Promote and ensure a safe working environment through safety programs.
4. Recommend improvements and additions to the safety management program, including emergency preparedness, accident prevention, and general safety.
5. Lead the local safety committee.
6. Identify opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health issues.
7. Share environmental safety information across the organization.
8. Ensure compliance with safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules at federal, state, and local levels.
9. Perform other related duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
* Excellent leadership and persuasive skills.
* Comfortable with public speaking and presenting.
* Knowledge of OSHA standards.
* Proficient in written, reading, and verbal English communication; Spanish skills are a plus.
* Ability to conduct safety training.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
* Ability to conduct initial incident reports.
* Flexibility to work hours as needed.
Education and Experience
* Event rental experience.
* Safety experience (required).
* OSHA 10-hour General Industry training (required).
Physical Requirements
* Ability to sit at a desk for long periods.
* Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
* Ability to walk throughout the facility for safety inspections.
* Ability to travel to job sites for safety inspections.
Compensation
* $34 to $36 per hour, depending on experience.
