What you’ll do
The Children and Young People’s East Cheshire Mental Health Team is a multidisciplinary group of experienced clinicians delivering high-quality therapeutic care. You will work collaboratively to manage complexity, mitigate risk, and achieve meaningful outcomes through assessments, therapy, family work, group sessions, consultation, and training.
Responsibilities
* Conduct mental health assessments and contribute to clinical risk assessments and risk management planning.
* Develop and implement evidence-based interventions tailored to children and young people’s needs (e.g., CBT, family therapy, systemic approaches).
* Deliver therapy and provide family work, group sessions, and consultation to professionals and families.
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, supporting pathways and delivering community-based mental health care to children, young people, and their families.
* Contribute to service development and evaluation to improve outcomes for CYPMH clients.
What you’ll bring
* A recognised qualification in nursing, social work, or an allied health profession.
* Professional registration with a recognised body (HCPC, NMC, or Social Work England).
* Nationally recognised post-qualification CPD related to the core profession.
* Experience working with children and young people with mental health challenges.
* Knowledge of evidence-based therapies (e.g., CBT, EMDR, DBT, or systemic approaches).
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills; ethical practice and commitment to professional growth.
* Ability to travel to various venues as required; access to transport or mobility to meet service needs.

Requirements and conditions
* Salary: £38,682 to £46,580 per annum (Band 6).
* Contract: Fixed-term, 1 year, full-time.
* Location: Elm House, The Priory Unit, Lea Bank, Macclesfield, SK11 8HE.
* Start dates: One fixed start date each month in line with the Prepare to Care (P2C) induction programme.
* DBS check: Applicants are responsible for DBS costs; consider enrolling in the DBS Update Service.
* UK Registration: Current UK professional registration required.
* Disclosure: This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and requires DBS disclosure.

Required qualifications (essential) and experience
* Core profession (Social Work, Nurse, Allied Health Professional).
* Professional registration with HCPC, NMC, or Social Work England.
* CPD related to the core profession.
* Significant post-qualification experience in CYPMHS or a child mental health field.
* Experience delivering evidence-based interventions and undertaking formal/informal risk and mental health assessments.
* IT skills (databases, MS Office, clinical systems).
Desirable
* Therapeutic training to intermediate/diploma level.
* Experience in NHS community CYPMHS.
* Experience providing clinical supervision.
