Head of Finance
Are you a strategic finance leader ready to help shape the future of an ambitious, growing organisation? Dudley Building Society is looking for an experienced and driven Head of Finance to join our team. This is a high-impact role with the opportunity to influence executive decision-making, lead a talented finance function, and ensure robust financial control and performance across the Society.
You'll play a key role in driving financial strategy and governance and with your strong technical expertise and proven leadership, you'll help steer the Society through regulatory change, business growth, and financial transformation.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Leading the finance team with clarity, energy, and a culture of continuous improvement.
Overseeing financial and regulatory reporting, hedge accounting, and financial risk controls. Supporting the Treasurer in capital and liquidity management.
Delivering robust budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling to support strategic planning.
Driving change and challenging the status quo to improve financial performance, processes, systems, and insight.
Engaging effectively with senior stakeholders across the Society and acting as a trusted business partner. Deputising for the CFO when necessary.
Supporting the implementation and optimisation of finance systems (experience with Whistlebrook and Almis desirable).What we're looking for:
Accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) and strong post-qualified experience in financial services with PRA and FCA regulation.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, develop, and lead high-performing teams.
A confident stakeholder manager, with experience engaging at Board and regulatory levels.
A strategic thinker with solid hands-on experience in technical accounting, including hedge accounting, and with capital and liquidity management.
Demonstrated ability to challenge constructively and drive operational and strategic change.
Proven track record of accurate and timely delivery of financial reporting and planning.
Excellent written and verbal communication, and interpersonal abilities.
Attention to detail to maintain a high level of accuracy with an analytical mindset.
Advanced understanding of Excel and financial systems.In Return
