Bid Manager – Construction / Civil Engineering
My client, a tier‑2 regional contractor based in the Midlands and Home Counties, is looking to hire an experienced Bid Manager to support projects ranging from £5 to £200 m. The company, with an annual turnover of approximately £150 m, aims to grow to close to £300 m in the next few years.
Base Pay: Up to £115,000 plus a comprehensive company package.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure pre‑proposal and proposal activities across all services are carried out consistently and in line with our strategy.
* Liaise with the business delivery team to develop a strategic approach to tendering, ensuring opportunities are captured across all relevant services for any particular project.
* Liaise with the commercial team to manage commercial exposure and risk in projects at the tender stage.
* Ensure a comprehensive handover of projects from proposal to contract to the project delivery team.
* Demonstrate commitment, proactivity and decisiveness in a dynamic environment, handling multiple simultaneous tasks.
Qualifications:
* Significant, demonstrable experience in a similar role within a civil engineering or consultancy business.
* Thorough understanding of the industry, including knowledge of relevant plant and equipment, standard specifications, various conditions of contract forms, and Health, Safety and Environmental legislation applicable to company operations.
* Proficiency with relevant computer applications.
