Daniel Owen are proud to be representing a well-known company based in the North London area who are looking for a highly skilled Building Control Technician to join their team.
Purpose of the Job - Building Control Technician
Assist with the supervision and management of building control projects to ensure compliance with the Building Act, Building Regulations and associated legislation.Carry out plan examinations, review technical drawings and calculations, and provide detailed feedback to applicants and stakeholders.Undertake site inspections across a variety of construction projects at different stages of development.Identify contraventions and support enforcement activities where required.Liaise with builders, contractors, architects, surveyors and other professionals regarding compliance matters.Respond to enquiries from members of the public and stakeholders relating to building control matters.Support the delivery of service improvement initiatives, fee recovery and performance targets.Maintain accurate records and update internal IT systems accordingly.Work collaboratively with internal departments and external agencies where necessary.Requirements:
Previous experience within Building Control, Building Regulations or Construction Compliance.Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and associated legislation.Experience carrying out site inspections and reviewing plans/drawings.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Ability to manage a varied caseload and work independently.Relevant industry qualifications such as CABE, CIOB, RICS or Registered Building Inspector status are desirable.
