We are looking for an experienced Account Development Manager to join our team at Wincanton, based at our new shared user facility in Scotland. Reporting to the Account Manager, you will engage with Operational, Functional, and solution design teams to develop and close new business opportunities. You will also support and develop our sales strategy alongside the Head of Account Management and Head of Operations - Scotland.
The successful candidate will be required to pass and maintain extensive security clearance and background checks prior to starting.

Day to Day
* Support the Account Manager with key accounts and deputize in-country when needed
* Manage sales negotiations and bid closing activities with the Business Development and Account teams
* Ensure successful transition of opportunities to the delivery team
* Assist in creating Board approval papers for the Head of Account and liaise with the People Team for technical and people solutions
* Drive revenue and volume growth within the Scottish warehousing infrastructure and explore new markets
* Stay informed on trends within the Scottish landscape, industry, and competitors’ activities
* Work with bid support and sales teams to maximize bids, tenders, and renewals, ensuring timeliness and compliance
* Build a pipeline of genuine new business opportunities
* Support tender processes from start to finish
* Source, plan, and attend exhibitions, forums, and conferences nationwide
What will you bring?
* Proven experience in Account Management or Business Development
* At least two years’ experience in supply chain
* Knowledge of the UK logistics industry and supply chain challenges
* Ability to meet or exceed personal sales targets and account growth objectives
* Excellent presentation, communication, and facilitation skills
* Strong personal impact; engaging and passionate
* Relationship-building and stakeholder influence skills
* Self-motivated and proactive
