Overview
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million, with 2.2 million when regional and national services are included. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Technical Instructor / HCSW within Renfrewshire HSCP. A SVQ Level 3 or equivalent is required.
The post is full-time, though part-time options may be considered for a period of 1 year to provide resilience as the service expands to cover 7 days. This may be offered as fixed term or a secondment opportunity; applicants for secondment require agreement from their current line manager prior to application.
The post is set within a multidisciplinary team working across acute and community settings to support those with frailty to maximise independence and wellbeing, supporting early discharge and preventing avoidable hospital admissions. The post will work across the primary/secondary interface, joining the HFRS team aligned with acute front doors in Renfrewshire and Glasgow City HSCP areas. A key part of the role is facilitating communication between and within multi-disciplinary teams across acute and community services.
During the duration of the post, education and training will align with local induction and competency frameworks for HCSW to develop competencies across health fields to support nursing and AHP care plans, treatments and therapies, and to work closely with patients to enable them to live safely at home. The posts will be peripatetic, working across acute and community settings to support the development of a 7-day service.
