My client is currently looking for a for a Legal Cashier to join their law firm in Poole, Dorset.
My client are on the lookout for a proactive, detail-focused and experienced Legal Cashier to join their busy accounts team. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the accurate and compliant processing of client money, helping us deliver an efficient service to both clients and consultants.
You’ll need to bring prior legal cashiering experience, a strong understanding of the Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR), and a calm, methodical approach – particularly when handling high volumes of work, in particular conveyancing completions.
This is a full-time role, with hybrid or remote working available depending on experience.
Responsibilities
• Accurately process client and office account payments, receipts, and transfers
• Handle the financial side of completions, including reviewing statements and files
• Manage daily banking and reconciliation tasks
• Ensure all work complies with the latest Solicitors Accounts Rules
• Help maintain clean, accurate financial records for audit readiness
• Flag any discrepancies or compliance issues and work to resolve them quickly
• Respond to queries from legal consultants and internal teams in a timely, professional manner
• Work closely with the accounts team to ensure smooth day-to-day running
• Support internal financial processes and reporting
• Use our legal accounting systems to process transactions efficiently (LEAP experience is a bonus)
• Be comfortable spotting and highlighting breaches of the Solicitors Accounts Rules
Requirements
• Proven experience as a Legal Cashier or in a legal accounts role
• Solid understanding of Solicitors Accounts Rules and legal accounting procedures
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage high volumes calmly and efficiently
• Good working knowledge of Xero accounting software and Excel is a bonus
• Experience with LEAP is a real plus
