Overview of Job Role
We are seeking a Housekeeper to join us in the exciting journey of opening of Aston Manor Care Home. This pivotal role requires an individual who can ensure to maintain a safe an clean environment. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of people skills and an in-depth understanding of infection prevention and control standards.
Hours of Work: 28 hours per week (7am - 2pm shift pattern)
(Rota pattern will cover Monday - Sunday)
Competitive Pay Rate: £12.75 per hour
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Ensure that all areas of the care home, including but not restricted to bedrooms, communal spaces, and bathrooms, are clean, tidy, and hygienic.
* Carry out housekeeping duties to ensure high standards of compliance with infection control and health and safety regulations.
* Interact with residents, addressing their needs, and ensuring their living spaces are well-maintained.
* Obtain feedback from residents and staff regarding cleaning and laundry quality to ensure that we are meeting the needs of the home and our residents at all times.
* Follow the COSHH Health & Safety Data Sheets and ensure compliance at all times.
* Ensure to appropriately complete and sign all required documentation as directed by the Head Housekeeper.
* Assist in stocking housekeeping consumables and adhere to the proportionate use of these items.
* Ensure that all housekeeping equipment is well maintained and in good working order.
* Ensure that all waste is disposed off in accordance with the relevant policies and procedures.
* Support with duties in the laundry as required by the Head Housekeeper.
* Carry out any duties reasonably required to ensure the smooth operation of Aston Manor.
About You
* Demonstratable working knowledge and experience of working in a similar role within the Care Home or hospitality settings.
* Excellent communication skills with a people first approach.
* Ability to multitask, prioritise and take ownership of this role with confidence and discretion.
* Work collaboratively as part of the team.
* Possess strong planning and organisational skills.
