Project Manager - Commercial Solar | Hybrid with UK travel
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of commercial-scale solar PV projects from inception to completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards, while maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships.
About Ecovision
Ecovision has extensive experience designing, installing and managing distributed rooftop solar PV asset portfolios across the UK. We have installed over 5,500 systems and currently manage over 19,000 installations across mainland UK (63MWp capacity), primarily on behalf of Portfolio Investors, Councils and Housing Associations. We have a strong track record of managing long term solar performance and work with clients to minimise operational costs whilst maximising the generation of renewable energy.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the end-to-end delivery of solar PV projects, including planning, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover
* Coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution
* Develop and maintain project programmes, budgets, and risk registers, proactively addressing issues as they arise
* Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, CDM requirements, and environmental standards
* Conduct regular site visits, progress meetings, and client updates to monitor quality, progress, and stakeholder satisfaction
* Oversee project documentation, including contracts, RAMS, handover packs, and O&M manuals
* Manage grid connection applications, DNO liaison, and approvals in collaboration with technical specialists
* Ensure effective financial control, including forecasting, reporting, and cost management
* Drive continuous improvement, identifying lessons learned and implementing best practices for future projects
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience as a Project Manager in renewable energy, construction, or electrical infrastructure projects (solar PV experience highly desirable)
* Strong understanding of construction methodologies, electrical systems, and renewable energy technologies
* Excellent knowledge of CDM regulations, H&S legislation, and quality standards
* Strong commercial acumen with experience in budget management and contract administration (e.g. NEC/JCT)
* Exceptional organisational, leadership, and communication skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure
* Proficient in MS Project, Primavera, or similar project management tools
* Relevant professional qualifications (e.g. Prince2, APMP, or equivalent) are desirable
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites
