Job Description
Start Date: 01/09/2026 (Temporary in the first instance)
Lead the management of the Personalised Learning Centre (PLC) and strategically identify and deliver alternative courses and intervention strategies relevant to vulnerable student cohorts. Requires a proactive approach to multi‑agency collaboration, a passion for mentoring, and a focus on removing barriers to learning.
Responsibilities
* Identify student cohorts for the alternative curriculum and deliver relevant courses.
* Act as single point of contact for accessing specialist support services such as Social and Youth Services, Education Welfare Service, and Probation Service.
* Develop and implement time‑bound action plans with SMART targets to remove learning barriers.
* Establish and maintain supportive mentoring relationships.
* Undertake necessary student testing (e.g., Lucid).
* Support and encourage pupils toward further education, apprenticeships, or employment.
Qualifications
* Experience working in a school environment with young people facing specific difficulties and vulnerabilities.
* Knowledge of issues affecting students and young people to offer supportive assistance.
* Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences.
* Excellent time management and organisation skills.
* Proficiency in standard ICT packages.
* Ability to develop programmes that build self‑esteem and confidence.
