You will also have responsibility for a satellite site in Purfleet. You will coordinate the dray transport operation of the depot to ensure the fleet operates in full compliance of all driver and vehicle legislation whilst also satisfying the needs of the network and the customers, efficiently and cost effectively. You will be on and have responsibility for the O License for this operation. This is a full time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday, 08:00 till 16:00. However, we do ask for some flexibility, this is logistics after all! What youll do on a typical day: Oversee the daily operations of the transport department to ensure that all transport legislation is always adhered to Comply with all relevant transport legislation covering the fleet, ensuring all vehicles are maintained in line with legal requirements and O licence requirements Hold responsibility for compliance with company and statutory requirements regarding Operator Licence, H&S, service quality, drivershours, and tacho regulations, inclusive of the working time directive Managing the planning and organising of schedules and operational work of the transport function to meet all service level criteria Develop and implement transportation strategies and plans to optimise efficiency and cost-effectiveness Promote positive industrial relations at the appropriate level and ensure continuous improvement. What you need to succeed at GXO: International Managers CPC essential and preferably been on an O License previously Excellent transport knowledge including route planning, knowledge of driver hours rules, working time directive and vehicle/transport legislation Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and Tacho-master, Trailermaster, Microlise (Desirable) Demonstrable experience within a similar role, managing a transport operation, preferably in a 3PL environment We engineer faster, smarter, leaner supply chains.
