You will be accountable for setting key CNC machines within the Rainham Machine Shop to support the manufacture of critical material components for the Perrin and Rowe Brassware business. You will work closely with the Machine Shop, Quality, Stores, Planning, Assembly, and Engineering Teams to deliver expected output for the machines.
What you will be responsible for:
* Setting and operating CNC mills with a range of programming languages including Fanuc, Siemens, and HAAS.
* Completing detailed quality checks against dimensional drawings using measuring equipment, verniers, micrometers, and gauges.
* Passing off 1st off approvals for production runs and logging & recording all measurements on the relevant check sheets.
* Properly storing 1st off and Last off parts in accordance with company standards.
* Programming transfers from and to the DNC computer system.
* Recognising, identifying, and reporting all quality defects and equipment failures.
* Ensuring all completed components are sent to Stores with correct inventory, works order paperwork, and any empty trays for that part, daily, for booking in.
* Ensuring all work is undertaken in accordance with work instructions/procedures.
* Ensuring preventative maintenance schedules are completed as required.
* Maintaining good communication and relationships throughout the company.
* Ensuring compliance with company procedures and making suggestions for improvement.
* Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety requirements.
* Maintaining a clean, safe working environment and good housekeeping standards, ensuring 5S standards are maintained.
What you will already have:
* Ability to read & interpret technical drawings.
* Knowledge of CNC turning/milling machinery.
* Strong knowledge of Fanuc, Siemens, and HAAS programming languages.
* Keen attention to detail and ownership of cleanliness of parts.
* Able to work as a team and independently.
* Engineering background preferred.
* A practiced self-starter confident to manage a complex and shifting planning cycle.
