Job Description:
This West End law firm sits at the cutting edge of entertainment, technology, and media, and they’re growing. With a client base that includes global entertainment brands, elite athletes, and household names in music and film, they’re now looking to hire a Commercial Solicitor to join their thriving team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking an interesting and long-term position; for the right person, this could be a career-changing opportunity.
This is a rare chance to join a well-balanced team with top talent across commercial, IP, and media law.
The team handles work for some of the biggest names in entertainment, media, and sports, and they are looking for a commercially minded lawyer experienced in sophisticated commercial agreements to support growing demand across entertainment and media clients.
You will work closely with two highly regarded partners on complex, often cross-border commercial work spanning entertainment, licensing, technology, and media. The department handles high-quality work, which is why they are hiring.
This role offers a career-building opportunity for someone who can start immediately and help free up senior lawyers for business development and client growth.
Benefits include:
* Enviable client base: From major film studios to internationally recognized content creators, working with some of the most well-known names in entertainment and media.
* Collaborative culture: Joining a collegiate team where everyone contributes and egos are left at the door, creating an enjoyable work environment.
* Defined progression: The team structure supports internal growth and career development, aiming to bring in someone who can develop into a key mid-level position.
* Flexible background requirements: While private practice training is ideal, candidates with strong in-house experience and solid commercial instincts are also considered.
Responsibilities include:
* Drafting and negotiating commercial agreements across tech, entertainment, and licensing sectors.
* Advising on soft IP issues (copyright and design rights, excluding trademarks).
* Supporting brand and content-driven businesses on strategic commercial contracts.
* Collaborating across teams to support overlapping client interests.
* Assisting senior lawyers with client development initiatives and key account management.
The Ideal Candidate
* 2–4 years’ PQE in a strong commercial or IP practice (exceptional 1 PQE candidates will also be considered).
* Solid experience in commercial contracts, with exposure to media, tech, or IP-related matters.
* Genuine interest in entertainment and media sectors such as music, TV, digital platforms, or tech.
* Strong technical training and a personable, team-oriented approach.
* Licensing experience and IP knowledge are highly valued.
Salary & Progression
The firm offers a competitive salary package based on experience. Clear and genuine progression prospects are available, with a focus on internal career development.
