Mission Statement

The purpose of this role is to provide support and delivery of policies and procedures to ensure product safety, legality and quality is maintained, engage cross functionally to support a right first time culture, which meets the continued needs of our customers and best practice. Support training and development of technical aspects across the wider business. Coordinate activities associated with new standards and customer COPs.


Responsibilities

* Contributing and delivering a forward-thinking UK technical strategy with a focus on delivery at Ashton
* Ensure the development, implementation of best practice Technical and Quality Standards that meet Regulatory and Customer requirements.
* In conjunction with the Head of Technical ensure the quality manual is updated in line with changes and developments in legislation, COP & BRC GS requirements.
* Manage and support customer relationships ensuring needs are met and communicated to the wider technical and operational teams.
* Support technical excellence and driving standardisation at site level through coaching, mentoring and development as required.
* Providing Technical expertise to the site leadership team in all relevant areas


Main Duties

* Review, maintain and lead the site HACCP plan and Team
* Review, maintain and lead the site Allergen Management System.
* Review, update and implement existing and new policies and procedures as part of the sites FSQM.
* Actively support and encourage a right first time approach to technical and quality on site
* Actively challenge non-compliance and support behavioural change.
* Reviewing testing results and implementing action plans in conjunction with the Head Of Technical
* Customer liaison
* Support sites continual improvement plans.
* Adhere to site Health and Safety policies and procedures.
* Develop, manage and execute the site internal audit programme, including training of auditors to ensure the site is covered effectively.
* Support the on-site training programme including the review of training documentation, delivery of training and validation.
* Key stakeholder in ensuring all documentation is in place through all relevant departments ensuring the transition from concept to launch is accurate and right first time.
* Ensuring full document control of all documents relating to Food Safety.

Training & Skills Needed

* Degree or equivalent in food related subject is advantageous.
* A HACCP Level 3
* Legal Labelling is advantageous
* Basic microbiology knowledge
* Strong knowledge of BRC GS, GHP and GMP.
* Strong people management skills to be able to build rapport, strong working relationships and an influential approach in teams of different geographical areas.
* Ability to manage change.
* Excellent communication skills at all levels.
* Time management and organisational skills.
* Ability to work on own initiative.
* Decision making and problem-solving skills.
* Commercial awareness.
* Proactive, enthusiastic, motivated, and accurate.
