Overview
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Carpenter to join our Estates Maintenance team. You will play a vital role in delivering both planned and reactive maintenance services to ensure a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff across the Trust. This is a fast-paced, dynamic role within healthcare facilities, requiring a strong work ethic, technical expertise, and a commitment to supporting healthcare through effective estate management.
Responsibilities
* Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across hospital sites.
* Install, repair, and maintain doors, windows, flooring, ceilings, signage, locks, glazing, and basic plumbing.
* Manufacture and fit items such as shelving, notice boards, partitions, and frames.
* Work collaboratively with ward staff, contractors, and other trades.
* Diagnose faults and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and hospital regulations.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a carpenter.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
* Commitment to safety and compliance in a healthcare environment.
* Ability to work effectively with ward staff, contractors, and trades.
