Job Title: Trainee NDT Inspection Engineer

Vacancy Overview
An opportunity has arisen within the MTD Engineering Services Department. The successful candidate will attain a place on the NDT Trainee Programme. You will be joining a leading Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) team, with the opportunity to experience a varied scope of engineering inspection methods, across multiple industry sectors both throughout the UK and globally. Upon completion of the programme, you will gain full time employment as an NDT Technician at MTD.
The programme will offer hands-on experience and training in the following Non-Destructive Testing methods:
* Radiographic Testing
* Ultrasonic Testing
* Liquid Penetrant Testing
* Magnetic Particle Testing
* Eddy Current Testing
* Visual Testing
As part of our programme, you will be paired with skilled, multi-qualified NDT technicians, gaining on the job experience, in all the above test methods. You will assist in carrying out a variety of inspections both at MTD and client sites. You will also receive formal training courses at recognised training establishments, sit examinations, and gain certification as you progress through the programme.
The successful candidate will be working 37.5 hours per week, with 26 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays. Wage structure will be discussed with the successful candidate following the interview process, with pay rises each year as you progress through the programme.
Desirable Personal Qualities
The successful candidate will have a genuine interest in engineering inspection, a willingness to travel when required, good communication skills and a hands-on approach. A full UK driving license is also essential.
