Voice & Influence Worker – Young Influencer (4 posts)
Community Youth Services are delighted to be recruiting to four new posts to support their direct voice and influence work with care experienced children and young people in the city.
We are looking for four enthusiastic care experienced young people, aged 18 to 25 years, with a passion for improving things for Sheffield care experienced children and young people. These roles are flexible at 4 hours per week and potential opportunities for occasional additional hours as the project and work grows.
You will have full access training and support to develop and learn in the role. Each post will be well supported by Community Youth Services and flexible with an opportunity to choose areas you are especially passionate about.
As a Young Influencer you will have the opportunity to:
1. Work alongside Community Youth Services staff, supporting activities with children looked after and care leavers to help them to share their views, opinions and experiences.
2. Help share the views of care experienced young people in a young person friendly way through newsletters, websites, and social media.
3. Share your own views and experiences in training exercises.
4. Give your own views in interview panels to recruit social care professionals, alongside other care leavers, foster carers and other professionals.
5. Share your experiences and give feedback on young person friendly action plans by participating in small meetings with service managers supported Community Youth Services staff.
Due to the nature of this role, which involves providing insight based on current lived experience of care experienced young people, applicants should be aged 18-25 years. This age range is applied as a genuine occupational requirement in accordance with Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.
