The Role
£50,269 to £54,495 (pay award pending). Bolton Council is undergoing significant transformation and seeks a Senior Change Manager to drive and deliver strategic change activity across the council. The role includes:
* Leading specific change priorities within a friendly team of Senior Change Managers and other Change staff.
* Collaborating with individual services to apply transformation principles and support modernisation through analysis, process mapping, co‑design and engagement approaches, with the customer at the centre.
* Influencing and helping shape the direction of projects and service delivery.
The team is undergoing a service redesign in 2026, which may present longer‑term opportunities. This role is available as a 12‑month fixed‑term contract or secondment.
About You
* Significant experience of delivering and managing complex change projects and programmes, ideally within the public sector.
* Proficient in systems thinking and capable of managing multiple, fast‑paced and complex pieces of work simultaneously.
* Strong evidence base to demonstrate improved outcomes.
* Comfortable working with colleagues and partners at all levels, including elected members.
* Strong leadership and influencing skills.
GM Elevate (Leadership Development) Programme completion is an advantage.
