We’re retained by a fast-growing, entrepreneurial capital markets firm operating at the sharp end of UK small-cap and growth equity. They work directly with founders, CEOs and institutional investors to execute live fundraises, placings and IPO-adjacent transactions.
This is not a passive, back-office role.
This is front-office, revenue-generating, deal-driven exposure to the real engine room of capital markets.
If you’re commercial, resilient, and want to build a career where performance actually matters — this is a serious launchpad.
The Role
As a Junior Sales / Corporate Broker, you’ll sit at the intersection of investors, live deals and listed company clients. You’ll be trained to originate demand, support transactions, and build genuine market relationships from day one.
Typical responsibilities include:
1. Speaking daily with institutional investors, funds and family offices
2. Supporting live placings and capital raises (bookbuilds, allocations, investor feedback)
3. Pitching live investment opportunities clearly and credibly
4. Maintaining investor coverage lists and CRM systems
5. Supporting senior brokers on corporate client relationships
6. Staying close to market news, RNS flow and live deal pipelines
This is a role for someone who wants to be commercially accountable early — not hidden away doing theoretical work.
What They’re Looking For
This firm is looking for someone with prior exposure to the small- and mid-cap equity space, ideally from a broker, sales desk, PR/IR or corporate access firm, who is ready to step into a more commercial, front-office role.
You’ll likely be:
7. Confident communicating with senior stakeholders and fund managers
8. Commercially minded, with a genuine interest in equities and capital markets
9. Comfortable on the phone and proactive in building investor relationships
10. Resilient, motivated and performance-driven
11. Keen to build a long-term career in broking and capital markets
Relevant experience in small/mid-cap markets is important, but attitude, hunger and coachability remain key.
Why This Is a Proper Launchpad
12. Front-line exposure to live transactions
13. Direct access to senior dealmakers and founders
14. Fast learning curve in how money actually moves in markets
15. Clear progression path into full broker / capital markets roles
16. High-performance culture with upside linked to success
This is the kind of seat where you learn more in 12 months than many people do in 3 years in slower, more hierarchical environments.
