About The Role
We are seeking a Clinical Unit Manager to oversee a specific area of our care home, ensuring the highest standard of nursing care is delivered at all times. The role involves managing day‑to‑day operations, supervising nursing staff, and stepping in for the Home Manager or Deputy Home Manager when required.
Responsibilities
- Manage a designated part of the care home and run the entire facility when senior managers are absent.
- Report and communicate any changes in a resident’s condition, including new mobility issues or medication needs.
- Act as a practice supervisor and assessor for students, mentoring colleagues and supporting their professional development.
- Maintain and model professional behaviour, ensuring effective verbal and written communication throughout the team.
- Advocate for and deliver a person‑centred approach to care for residents and their families.
- Recognise and act on safeguarding concerns, including the identification of possible abuse, harm or neglect, and report these appropriately.
- Ensure all nursing staff complete necessary safeguarding and person‑care training.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with a valid NMC PIN.
- Demonstrated commitment to the NMC standards of practice.
- Experience in a residential or dementia care setting preferred.
- Strong mentoring and communication skills.
- Ability to manage a team and coordinate care activities efficiently.
