Overview
We are seeking to appoint an Associate Professor of cell and molecular biology relevant to human disease, based in Oxford University's Sir William Dunn School of Pathology. The role offers the opportunity to pursue an independent programme of research in a thriving scientific community, while contributing to undergraduate and graduate teaching at both departmental and collegiate levels.
The Dunn School has an outstanding track record in biomedical research, with a focus on the fundamental cell and molecular biology underlying a broad range of disease mechanisms. It provides a stimulating and supportive community environment with access to excellent scientific facilities and support services, both within the department and across the wider Oxford community.
The department is in an exciting period of growth and renewal; this tenure-track position is an opportunity to shape and develop its historic strengths in the biology of the causes and treatment of human disease, and to integrate them further with Oxford's biomedical community.
Responsibilities
* Establish an independent research programme in cell and molecular biology relevant to human disease, with potential preference for immunology-related research.
* Contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching at departmental and collegiate levels.
* Collaborate within a thriving scientific community and contribute to the Dunn School's mission and growth.
Qualifications
* Higher degree (PhD/DPhil) with a track record of internationally competitive research and publications in any area of cell or molecular biology relevant to human disease.
* Demonstrated commitment to, and ideally experience in, training and mentoring of graduate students, and undergraduate teaching.
* Value collegiality and a supportive and diverse working environment.
* Preference may be given to candidates whose research relates to immunology.
Institute and Support
The Dunn School can offer high quality laboratory space and funding to cover the post-holder's salary. It may also be possible to negotiate additional initial support.

Salary
Pay Scale: ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR (TF-UNIVERSITY)
Salary (£): Grade 10a: £58,265 - £77,645 per annum plus substantial additional benefits including a College housing allowance of £11,072 per annum, an additional discretionary variable allowance of £6,458 per annum, and a research allowance of £2,153 per annum.
