Reporting to the Managing Director – Commercial. This role aims to achieve profitable and sustainable growth through the development and management of our distribution, merchant and offsite activities operating in Great Britain.
This role is responsible for the design & execution of the ‘UK customer sales plan’ which complements the wider Business Operating Plan.
Establishing positive relationships, detailed business understanding, price management with margin control and progressive sales plans are an essential component of this role. The wider industry and business development roles will facilitate, and are complementary to, activities in this area.
This is a critical role in helping to deliver the company’s core proposition of ‘relevance’ as well as personifying the strategic elements of: focus; scale; intimacy; & innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage GB commercial sales teams.
* Account management responsibility of key accounts.
* Generate strategic account plans, for all key customer groups, which support margin development and support the S&T strategy of the business.
* Price, margin and volume management.
* Develop relationships with our core customer base.
* Conduct regular review of business performance, promotion strategies and sales activity.
* Participate in and support supply chain initiatives both internally and with key accounts.
* Support demand planning and financial forecasting.
* Actively contribute to and execute marketing communication programmes.
* Drive technical competencies across sales team to support S&T strategy.
* Measure sales team performance against a pre-defined set of KPIs and create a ‘data-led’ decision and measurement environment.
* Performance manage, motivate and mentor sales team members.
* Assist Customer Service and Business Management functions.

* Significant and demonstrable experience within a broad & complex commercial environment.
* Customer engagement, supply chain nd operational experience
* Familiarity of working in manufacturing environment
* Familiar with distributors and builder merchants.
* Experience of working in a value-added brand-led environment.
* Demonstrable experience in driving profit
* Knowledge of CRM
