Here at Travis Perkins we’re urgently recruiting for a Product Development Manager to join us on a 12 month fixed term contract providing maternity cover.
As our Product Development Manager, you’ll have the power to lead and own the product development lifecycle for a specific group of Benchmarx categories, driving portfolio profitability and SKU efficiency for a market-leading product offer. Your focus will be on delivering detailed SKU level data analysis, consumer & trade market data analysis and insights, product design, innovation & development, and value engineering programmes to future-proof the Benchmarx kitchen assortment.
Driving licence & access to a car is preferred as you will be required to visit suppliers and branches.
What you’ll do:
* Identify and develop relevant market-leading (and customer-led) design initiatives that will drive profitable growth of Kitchen Categories
* Define product range & manage portfolio, creating usable and functional data for range mapping
* Review range profitability and, along with the Head of Product, decide on development, retention, reduction, or elimination
* Lead & integrate closely on selection and decision-making, ensuring all business cases demonstrate profitability and SKU efficiency; understand full cost to serve for the category
* Develop constructive, effective, and supportive relationships within the wider team, especially with Marketing & the Product Development Panel
* Maintain relationships with strategic suppliers, staying updated on future developments and trends
* Support Marketing with CGI/photography, catalogue content, in-store graphics/POS, layouts, bay designs, decorative specifications, and display dressing solutions
* Assist the Head of Product with delivering the full end-to-end Go-To-Market strategy, managing NPD, delete lines, and obsolete stock, ensuring all product data and internal systems are compliant
Ideally you’ll have:
* Experience in a Product Development role or industry experience
* Related Category Management & Product Development/Design experience in a retail/trade business
* A technical awareness of Kitchens with the ability to interpret fashion and design trends
* Strong analytical skills to manipulate data and identify opportunities
