Join to apply for the Site Engineer role at Balfour Beatty plc.

The opportunity is with our Power Transmission and Distribution team within the Operations/Construction Team. You’ll work with experts who’ll share knowledge and provide feedback to help you learn and develop. The role is based across the UK on projects in Large Infrastructure within our Power Transmission and Distribution Projects. The role will be based in the Isle of Skye, Scotland. Roles include a generous subsistence package (subject to Terms & Conditions), allowances, pension, and career progression within the industry.

What you’ll be doing

As a Site Engineer, you will have the following accountabilities:

* Understand the brief and liaise with the design team to survey, set out and provide feedback for design proposals in order to actively assist in the development of designs
* Understand the specified solution, brief the working party and ensure it is followed to completion
* Set to work and supervise a right-first-time delivery
* Safely and sustainably develop and deliver to programme and cost
* Monitor to ensure works are delivered compliant
* Produce required records in a timely manner
* Effectively manage and care for the people delivering the work


Who we’re looking for

You Will Have The Following

* HNC/HND/Degree in civil engineering, surveying or other engineering discipline preferred and/or relevant site experience with the Utilities / Construction Industry
* Experience in surveying and setting out using GPS survey equipment preferable
* Experience of using CAD will be an advantage
* Comfortable with ambiguity, able to tease out sensitive issues and lead cross-functional teams towards solutions
* Ability to work across conflicting interest groups to develop solutions to complex operational and commercial problems
* People management experience and relationship management skills
* Commercial awareness with knowledge of both budgetary and financial control
* Knowledge of project management methodology
* Full UK Driving Licence
* Willing to work away from home on an 11-day/3-day rota system
