Year 5/6 Teacher (Mixed Year Group) - Full-Time, Long-Term Contract
Location: Derby City
Start Date: 3rd November 2025
End Date: Easter 2026
The Role
* Full responsibility for a mixed Year 5/6 class, including planning, teaching, and assessment.
* Active involvement in all aspects of school life, including parents' evenings, staff meetings, and wider school activities.
* Delivering engaging lessons that challenge and support pupils of varying abilities.
* Supporting pupils with SEND, including those with EHCPs, ensuring tailored provision and progress.
* Preparing pupils for KS2 SATs, with strong subject knowledge and a focus on achieving the best outcomes.
* Maintaining excellent standards of behaviour management and fostering a positive learning environment.
The Successful Candidate Will Have
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with proven experience in Upper Key Stage 2.
* A solid understanding of the KS2 curriculum, particularly Years 5 and 6.
* Demonstrable experience of supporting pupils with SEND and navigating the EHCP process.
* Knowledge of the SATs process and proven ability to prepare pupils effectively.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, pupils, and parents.
* A commitment to the wider life of the school community.
