Position Overview:
As the Housing Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the Trust while upholding its core values. Reporting to the Chief Executive and Finance Officer, you will manage frontline staff and be a key player in housing management issues. This is a senior role that requires a commitment of at least 35 hours per week, with occasional evening and weekend commitments for resident and board events.
Key Responsibilities:
* Champion the Trust's core values and promote a culture of equality and diversity.
* Deliver customer-focused resident services that lead the industry.
* Jointly manage administrative staff, focusing on performance management, training, and staff development.
* Oversee essential housing management functions, including:
- Estate services
- Maintenance services
- Tenancy management
- Voids and lettings management
- Anti-social behaviour management
- Health & safety compliance
- Management services for external landlords
Specific Responsibilities:
Staff Management
* Ensure adequate office coverage, prioritising staff safety.
* Supervise frontline staff to ensure balanced workloads and professional service.
* Train and develop staff on housing management topics.
* Handle grievances and disciplinary matters under the Chief Executive's guidance.
Housing Management Policy & Service Delivery
* Regularly review and update housing policies to align with best practices.
* Engage with stakeholders and residents for policy changes and updates.
* Deliver performance against annual targets, managing rent arrears and complaints efficiently.
Maintenance Services:
* Manage partnerships with contractors and oversee maintenance budgets.
* Report performance metrics to the Chief Executive and Board, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience in housing management or a related field.
* Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to manage budgets and deliver results.
