Digital Media Investigator (MOSOVO)
to join our Public Protection team.
What's the Role About?
As a Digital Media Investigator, you'll play a key role in shaping technology and data strategies for investigations. You'll provide expert advice, support live incidents, and help gather digital evidence to protect children and vulnerable individuals.
What You'll Be Doing
* Develop and maintain technology and data strategies for investigations.
* Attend crime scenes and collect, preserve, and examine digital evidence.
* Identify urgent safeguarding needs and work with partners to protect children.
* Support investigations daily, working with prosecutors and case officers on evidence preparation.
* Liaise with digital forensics, open-source teams, and other experts.
* Evaluate digital data and make recommendations for further action.
* Drive continuous improvement in digital investigation techniques.
* Train and educate officers and staff on digital investigations.
* Ensure compliance with relevant laws and policies, including RIPA and CPIA.
* Prepare witness statements, attend court, and manage disclosure and exhibits.
What You'll Need
* Investigative experience, especially with data and technology.
* Strong understanding of investigative and prosecution processes.
* Ability to handle and secure sensitive evidence.
* Experience exploiting intelligence and converting it into usable evidence.
* Knowledge of RIPA, CPIA, ECHR, and digital investigation techniques.
* Ability to manage demanding workloads and prioritise tasks.
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
* Good standard of Maths and English; working knowledge of Excel and Word.
* Willingness to undertake relevant training and MV vetting.
* Full driving licence and willingness to travel across the force area.
