Strange Brew are seeking an experienced, licenced SIA door supervisor to join our team. Strange Brew is a queer-friendly venue in Bristol centre that offers a broad program of live music, art and club events, which attracts a diverse crowd.
Essential requirements:
* current SIA licence
* minimum 2 years SIA experience in licensed premises (music venue/ club / festival)
* Have own insurance
* Must be regularly available evenings and weekends, including late finishes
* first aid trained
* Good reliability and timekeeping
* Ability to remain calm under pressure, strong de-escalation and communication skills
* Approachable and courteous with the ability to interact positively with diverse groups of people
* Ability to attend regular team meetings (all time is paid for)
Desirable:
* Mental health awareness trained
* Disability awareness trained
* LGBTQ+ awareness trained

* Rate: starting at £17/hr - dependent on experience (paid weekly or monthly, via invoice as preferred)

As a Door Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for both staff and visitors. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the entrance and exit of individuals, ensuring compliance with licensing and our venue policies. You will be the first point of contact for guests, setting the tone for their experience while ensuring that all security measures are effectively implemented.
Duties include standard SIA door supervisor for licensed premises such as:
* Monitor entrances and exits to prevent unauthorised access and ensure guest safety.
* Challenge 25
* Respond promptly to incidents, providing first aid when necessary and coordinating with emergency services as required.
* Deter and de-escalate anti-social behaviour and ensure compliance with licensing laws.
