About the role
Our Teaching Assistants are fulfilled by the idea of making even the smallest positive changes in our young people. We celebrate the little victories, recognising that for some pupils a single lesson can be a significant win. You will work with children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder/Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. You will help them learn, develop their abilities and raise their self-esteem. You should be resilient and dedicated, and you will be supported to succeed as part of a collaborative team.
One of the best environments in SEND: Cumberland School focuses on the development and growth of its pupils, offering outstanding teaching, therapeutic support and vocational options. The launch of a new Key Stage 4 vocational centre and a partnership to create a Cruyff Court reflect the school’s no-limits approach to helping pupils succeed. This was recognised in our Good Ofsted rating.
