Job Title: Kitchen Assistant
Location:Hythe Marina Village, Southampton (SO45)
Reports To: Head Chef / Catering Manager
Job Purpose:
To support the kitchen team in delivering nutritious, well-presented meals for residents while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene within the care home kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in preparing ingredients and basic food items under the direction of the chef.
* Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and equipment.
* Ensure all food is handled and stored in line with food safety regulations.
* Support the serving of meals to residents when needed, ensuring a respectful and dignified approach.
* Monitor and report food stock levels; help with deliveries and stock rotation.
* Follow all food hygiene, health and safety procedures, and infection control standards.
* Dispose of waste appropriately and maintain a tidy kitchen environment.
* Cooperate with care and catering staff to ensure resident dietary needs are met.
