We are seeking a Machine Shop Team Leader to work for a manufacturing company in Whitstable. This is a permanent position paying £34,000 to £37,000 pa annum, depending on experience. 37.5 hours pw. Working pattern; Monday to Thursday; 8am to 4.30pm and Friday; 8am to 1.30pm. Based on site. Job Summary: Responsible for leading a team of Operators as well as undertaking daily production duties. Co-ordinate the teams work to ensure that all parts are manufactured correctly in the most accurate, timely and efficient manner, whilst ensuring a trained and motivated team are working to Company procedures. Duties and responsibilities • Organising daily workload and resources to ensure that work is carried out to the manufacturing schedule to achieve production KPI’s – OTD / Quality / Arrears lines and Values / Late Starts monitoring. • Work closely with the Planning Team to understand and achieve the production requirements for the cell. • Plan / delegate team priorities on a daily basis as appropriate, authorize team members holiday requests and follow up periods of absence / sickness. • Initial processing of Health and Safety - Accident and Near Miss reporting and follow up / Risk Assessments and COSHH and Quality issues- Responsible for scrap / rework / Not Right First-Time identification and improvement. • Maintain a skills matrix for your area of responsibility to ensure a match between skill resource and anticipated workload at all times. • Responsibility for daily production and Quality performance against given KPI targets per above. • Set and Run assigned machinery safely as trained and required • Ensure First Offs / In process inspections are carried out as appropriate. • Carry out Team Briefs and Tool Box Talks aligned to Health and Safety / OTD / Quality / Arrears and other Key Business Processes and Policies.
