Join to apply for the HSEQ Lead role at Network Plus.
Location: Ledbury. The role is within the Environmental Solutions Plus division (vegetation management) supporting DNO and Highways activities. Travel between bases in Hermitage, Ledbury, or Exeter; home working may be considered for a maximum of 2 days per week.
Compensation: £55,000 - £70,000 / year.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide assurance to the contract leadership team and Client(s) that Network Plus and contract partners work in-line with HSEQ contractual and legal requirements; develop a robust monitoring and L1 assurance programme across the contract.
* Proactively analyse data to identify performance trends and provide early intervention as required.
* Ensure contract leaders oversee robust monitoring against objectives and performance indicators with continuous improvement opportunities.
* Ensure contract HSEQ procedures meet corporate standards and client requirements, incorporate risk controls, and are embedded within contract operations.
* Develop and embed HSEQ plans detailing contractual requirements to meet corporate standards; deliver initiatives to meet HSEQ targets and objectives.
* Profile HSEQ risks and establish robust controls.
* Lead high-potential or high-severity HSEQ incidents, assign investigation responsibilities, oversee incident reports, and ensure remedial actions are completed.
* Implement local arrangements to meet the incident management process, ensure compliance, and establish weekly monitoring and escalations.
* Set minimum HSEQ training and competency requirements and assure contract compliance.
* Lead and develop a HSEQ team with guidance, support, and coaching for professional development.
* Establish criteria for contractor and supplier control for the contract.
* Lead the development and delivery of monthly briefings and campaigns; approve safety content for HSEQ communications on the contract (reports, training, standdowns, safety alerts, toolbox talks).
* Assist with accreditations and provide support for standards including ISO45001, ISO9001, ISO14001, Achillies, NHSS18, Arb Association approved contractor scheme, etc.
* Define HSEQ reporting and governance within the HSEQ plan and monitor adherence.
* Assist mobilising new contracts by providing planning to embed all HSEQ requirements for smooth transitions.
* Develop roadmaps and strategic plans to address key risk areas and promote best practices aligned with continuous improvement.
* Collaborate with other HSEQ Leads, leadership team, and stakeholders to promote health and safety excellence.
* Develop and sustain strong relationships with clients to ensure mutual satisfaction and shared objectives.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
* Occupational Health and Safety qualification
* Experience interpreting and applying HSE legislation in high-risk operations
* Significant working knowledge of Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM)
* Experience leading significant HSEQ incident investigations with Root Cause Analysis and formal training
* Experience applying ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001 to operational standards
* Experience implementing a robust level 1 assurance programme and conducting audits
* Willingness to travel with full UK Driving Licence
Desirable
* Registered member of a Chartered Institute
* Experience in Highways, Energy Sector and Arboriculture
* Environment Qualification
