Head of Learning and Development
Location: Hybrid (home-based with travel to service locations including West Midlands, Gloucestershire, and the North West)
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
A leading provider of social care services is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Learning and Development to lead its organisational training strategy. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on empowering staff, enhancing service quality, and embedding a culture of continuous learning across the organisation.
About the Role
As Head of Learning and Development, you will shape and deliver a comprehensive learning strategy that supports professional growth and regulatory compliance. You will lead a dedicated L&D team, collaborate with operational leaders, and ensure that all staff are equipped with the skills and confidence to provide exceptional care.
Key responsibilities include:
Designing and implementing the organisation-wide learning and development strategy
Managing the L&D team and overseeing training delivery across multiple locations
Ensuring compliance with sector standards and regulatory requirements
Driving innovation in training design, including digital learning solutions
Partnering with operational teams to embed learning into daily practice
Evaluating training outcomes and reporting on impactWhat We're Looking For
We are seeking a strategic thinker with hands-on experience in training delivery and leadership development, ideally within health or social care settings. The ideal candidate will be passionate about nurturing talent and driving quality through effective learning.
Essential criteria:
Proven experience in designing, delivering, and evaluating training programmes
Strong leadership skills and experience managing an L&D function
Knowledge of care sector training requirements and regulatory frameworks
Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS); familiarity with Your Hippo is advantageous
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to travel across service locations; a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are requiredWhat's on Offer
