Randstad are recruiting for a FreelanceForeman to work on a rail upgrade in Suffolk.
The successful candidate must have Rail experience as a site Supervsior or General Foreman.
Duties will include:
On-Site Management & Coordination
Supervise, coordinate, and delegate tasks to the on-site labour and subcontractors.
Manage daily and weekly work schedules to meet project deadlines.
Lead daily briefings (e.g., toolbox talks) and site inductions for new personnel.
Resolve on-site issues and conflicts promptly to maintain workflow.
Health & Safety
Enforce all health and safety regulations and ensure a safe working environment.
Conduct regular site safety inspections and risk assessments.
Ensure all personnel wear the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Report and document any accidents, incidents, or near misses immediately.
Quality Control & Planning
Monitor workmanship to ensure it meets quality standards and project requirements.
Identify and rectify any defects in the work.
Assist in short-term planning to overcome challenges and keep the project on schedule.
Resource & Materials Management
Oversee the receipt, inspection, and proper storage of materials and equipment.
Monitor resource usage to prevent waste and ensure efficiency.
Manage the correct use and maintenance of plant, tools, and equipment.
Communication & Reporting
Act as the primary on-site point of contact for the workforce and subcontractors.
Report progress, delays, and issues directly to the Project Manager or Site Manager.
Maintain accurate site records, including a daily diary, timesheets, and delivery dockets.
Liaise with inspectors from local authorities or regulatory bodies as required.
