This specialist school based in Barking are looking for an HLTA with experience of working with challenging children and young people. This is a specialist school that caters for young people who have been excluded or at risk of being excluded from a mainstream school The Role The purpose of the Higher Level Teaching Assistant is to support the Class Teacher with all elements of the day to day running of the class and to teach whole classes, groups and individual lessons in consultation with the Class Teacher on a regular basis across a range of classes. Summary of Role: Experience of working with hard-to-reach young people with SEMH/ACE’s/ASD/Sensory and communication difficulties. We are looking for candidates who are ‘Trauma informed’ with a mentoring/coaching/teaching background and an understanding of Therapeutic Education.
