Role Description

The Regional Roofing Manager leads specification‑driven tapered insulation roofing projects across the Southern UK. The role places strong emphasis on strategic collaboration with system partners, distributors, merchants and internal Recticel teams, ensuring all tapered solutions are British Standard–compliant and aligned with partner system requirements. This position plays a key role in developing long‑cycle pipelines, influencing early‑stage design, and supporting Gradient’s national commercial growth strategy.


Location: UK South (Area Sales can be provided)


Qualifications

* Experience in construction, roofing systems, insulation or technical sales (desirable).
* Relevant construction or technical qualifications advantageous.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally and nationally as required.


Skills, Experience & Competencies Required


System Partner & Relationship Skills

* Experience working with roofing system manufacturers, distributors, merchants or technical partners.
* Strong relationship‑building capability, including confidence hosting and attending partner customer events and meetings.
* Ability to build trust and drive aligned commercial strategies.


Technical & Compliance Expertise

* Understanding of tapered insulation design, flat roofing systems and relevant British Standards (BS 6229, BS 5250, BS EN insulation standards).
* Ability to review and support compliant technical design outputs.
* Experience managing multi‑stakeholder, technically complex roofing projects.


Strategic & Organisational Capability

* Ability to influence early-stage design and support long‑cycle, specification-led project development.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex workstreams.
* Comfortable working cross-functionally with technical, design and commercial departments.

System Partner Collaboration & Strategic Relationship Management

* Develop, manage and grow senior-level relationships with key roofing system partners to secure long‑term, repeatable project flow.
* Work jointly with partners to align Gradient tapered solutions with their system approvals, warranties and technical requirements.
* Work jointly with system partners to influence architects, consultants and contractors early in the design process, ensuring Gradient‑compliant tapered roofing systems are incorporated into project specifications.
* Coordinate partners’ technical teams to ensure all design proposals meet required performance standards and comply with British Standards (e.g., BS 6229, BS 5250).
* Share market intelligence, contractor activity and pipeline opportunities to support joint commercial strategies.
* Strengthen joint market positioning through aligned project pursuit and trusted technical support.
* Attend partner and customer events to strengthen relationships, support joint commercial activity and represent Gradient professionally.
* Participate in occasional overnight stays when required for customer events, partner meetings or multi‑day training/engagement activities.
* Organise and participate in System Partner regional team meetings with key customers — hosting sessions at Gradient facilities or attending external locations (including partner head offices) to capture larger audiences and drive deeper collaborative engagement.
* Manage a structured, compliant complaint‑resolution process with system partners: record issues, document all discussions, formally report agreed actions, and ensure partner‑supported resolutions are communicated to customers and internal teams.


Specification & Project Pipeline Development

* Lead the development of early‑stage, specification-led tapered roofing projects across the region.
* Influence consultants and designers to adopt British Standard–compliant Gradient systems within partner-approved build-ups.
* Build and manage a 12–36 month pipeline focused on early engagement rather than late-stage pricing‑driven tenders.
* Maintain accurate Salesforce pipeline updates to ensure forecasting visibility for the wider business.
* Undertake open specification work via Distributor and Merchant accounts to identify emerging opportunities, influence design choices and support partner-led project generation.


Collaborative Working with Recticel Insulation

* Work collaboratively with Recticel Insulation Area Sales Managers to share project intelligence, align specification activity and coordinate opportunities across shared customer bases.
* Support cross‑division communication to deepen customer coverage and maximise combined commercial impact.
* Identify opportunities where insulation and tapered solutions can be strategically combined to strengthen Group propositions.


British Standard–Compliant Technical Coordination

* Liaise with internal design teams to ensure tapered schemes meet BS‑compliant drainage, moisture control and thermal performance requirements.
* Provide compliant technical build-ups, calculations, drawings and warranty documentation aligned with system partner requirements.
* Review design proposals in line with BS 6229, BS 5250 and relevant insulation performance standards.
* Offer practical, technically robust guidance on compliant tapered solutions for refurbishment and new-build projects.
* Support the complaint‑resolution process by documenting technical issues, coordinating joint partner reviews, and ensuring corrective actions meet British Standards, system‑partner requirements and customer expectations.


Cross-Functional Project Delivery

* Collaborate with design, surveying, production and customer service teams to deliver high‑quality, coordinated roofing solutions and delivery.
* Ensure surveys, design iterations, manufacturing requirements and partner approvals are delivered accurately and on time.
* Work with the Commercial Director and Sales Leadership Team to align regional activity with national commercial strategy.
* Represent Gradient professionally at customer and industry events, including flexibility for occasional evenings or overnight stays as required.


Commercial Reporting & Business Contribution

* Maintain accurate and timely Salesforce pipeline updates to provide reliable forecasting to the business, ensuring visibility of project value, timing and probability.
* Lead regional forecasting and commercial reporting through Salesforce.
* Contribute to national revenue targets through specification conversion and sustained pipeline growth.
* Provide senior leadership with insight into market conditions, competitor activity and emerging opportunities.


Salary: Up to £55K DOE
