Rate: PAYE: £13.26/hour | Umbrella: £16.82/hour
About the Role:
Network Recruitment Wales is delighted to offer a unique opportunity for a Waste and Recycling Loader to join a dedicated team in Rhayader, Powys, for a 15-week temporary project starting 30 June 2025. This role is ideal for someone eager to contribute to a one-off community event or project, ensuring waste and recycling services run smoothly and efficiently. Working within the Highways, Transport, and Recycling (Waste) team, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining a clean and sustainable environment for the local community.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collect and load waste and recycling materials from residential and commercial properties in line with schedules.
2. Operate as part of a waste collection crew, ensuring safe and efficient handling of bins, bags, and containers.
3. Sort recyclable materials to ensure compliance with recycling guidelines.
4. Maintain cleanliness of collection vehicles and equipment, reporting any defects promptly.
5. Interact courteously with members of the public, responding to basic enquiries about waste and recycling services.
6. Adhere to Health & Safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself, colleagues, and the public.
7. Assist with additional tasks related to the one-off event or project as required.
8. Follow organisational policies and procedures to support the delivery of high-quality waste and recycling services.
What We’re Looking For:
9. Experience: Previous experience in waste collection, manual labour, or a similar outdoor role is desirable but not essential.
10. Skills: Ability to work as part of a team, with good physical fitness to handle repetitive lifting and outdoor work in all weather conditions.
11. Attributes: Reliable, punctual, and able to demonstrate a positive attitude towards customer service and environmental sustainability.
12. Knowledge: Basic understanding of waste and recycling processes is an advantage.
13. Requirement: Willingness to undertake mandatory training relevant to the role.
14. Desirable: Familiarity with Health & Safety practices in a waste or operational environment.
Candidate Requirements:
15. Eligible to work in the UK.
16. Provide a Criminal Convictions Declaration and Confidentiality Agreement.
17. Submit a CV with 2 years of references/work history.
18. Must have a valid DBS
