Job description
Our client BAE Systems, a prominent entity in the Defence and Security sector, is currently seeking a Principal Engineer - Electrical Engineering (Power) to join their Submarine Solutions team on a contract basis. This role involves working on cutting-edge submarine projects and contributing to national security initiatives, with hybrid arrangements allowing for flexibility and a 12-month duration. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work at either Barrow or Filton site, with limited occasional on-site requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Working on low voltage systems under 1000 volts
2. Designing and developing electrical power systems
3. Performing power system analysis and modelling
4. Utilising tools and software such as MS Office and possibly Matlab
5. Independently managing tasks and contributing to the project team
Job Requirements:
6. Experience as an electrical engineer in the Defence sector
7. Strong background in electrical power systems design and development
8. Proficiency with MS Office; Matlab experience is beneficial but not essential
9. Understanding of power system analysis and modelling
10. Ability to work independently and manage senior-level tasks
