We are the largest provider of repairs and maintenance, and regeneration services across the UK. Mears provides tailored rapid-response and planned maintenance services through partnerships with more than 70 local authorities, Arm’s Length Management Organisations, and Housing Associations.
About the Role:
As a Planner, you will work in a stable and profitable contract, delivering excellent service and support through our local teams, who understand the importance of working together for the community. This contract covers Redbridge council within the social housing sector.
You will perform admin duties, WIP management, handle calls and emails, raise repairs, plan works, ensure operatives have a full diary of jobs daily, liaise with operatives and subcontractors, and coordinate follow-up work, including re-visits to sites.
Day-to-day duties:
1. Support scheduling of operative and subcontractor resources to ensure effective management, customer-focused repairs service, and achievement of performance targets.
2. Operate IT systems effectively, ensuring operatives update their PDAs appropriately and rate codes are inputted correctly.
3. Monitor and update repairs in relation to job status, including jobs booked within target time, cancellations, overdue jobs, and follow-on work.
4. Prioritize customer experience by maintaining professionalism in communication, appearance, and health & safety standards.
5. Act as a liaison between residents and maintenance workers regarding ongoing work, providing accurate and timely information.
6. Collaborate with team members to deliver efficient service and maintain high satisfaction levels according to standard procedures.
7. Follow policies, procedures, and work instructions, maintain company assets, and report damages. Provide backup coverage and participate in meetings and training as needed.

* Experience in a call centre environment
* Strong customer service skills
* Ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations
* Good time management and organizational skills
* Proficiency with computerised systems
* Excellent written, verbal, questioning, and interpersonal skills
* Strong customer focus
All roles require the entitlement to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not offered. DBS/Security checks are required before employment.
