Our client, a leading manufacturer in the marine components sector, is seeking a meticulous Inspector for a contract position at their machine shop. The role will be focused on the late shift and involves ensuring the highest quality standards through rigorous inspection processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspecting components at all stages of production, including final inspection, using calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, and various hand tools.
Performing CMM programming and inspections using LK and Mitutoyo CMMs, if trained.
Raising non-conformance reports and supporting root cause analysis.
Reading and interpreting technical drawings, purchase orders, and concessions.
Releasing inspected parts to stores, assembly, and packaging areas, ensuring traceability for MDR Quality Packs & Class Visits.
Ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Labelling and storing products accurately, updating inventory in the system.
Collaborating across operations teams to achieve OTIF (On Time In Full) targets.
Maintaining a safe working environment and high housekeeping standards.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Experience in mechanical or electrical component inspection using dimensional hand tools.
Proficiency with LK and Mitutoyo CMMs.
Knowledge of FDA, GMP, ISO 13485 standards.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
Mechanical/assembly aptitude with experience in a production or engineering environment.
Understanding of health & safety procedures.
Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
Flexibility to work across logistics and operations teams.
College standard education, mechanical apprenticeship, or equivalent experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and MRP/SAP systems.
