An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic registered nurse to work within the Bowel Cancer Screening Department as a Specialist Screening Practitioner (SSP).
The role requires independent travel between University Hospital Coventry, Hospital of St Cross in Rugby, satellite centres within North Warwickshire, and South Warwickshire Foundation Trust.
Main duties of the job
* Nurse‑led clinics.
* Assessment of the patient.
* Scheduling of procedure.
* Data collection.
* Discussion of findings.
* Arranging follow‑up and referral to other specialties.
* Supporting the patient throughout the screening journey.
* Facilitate the patient journey for those referred with a positive FIT test.
* Provide information for appropriate choices for investigation.
* Carry out health assessments in a clinical setting.
* Prepare and attend Bowel Cancer Screening endoscopy lists.
* Follow up of the patient episode post procedure.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Registered nurse with up‑to‑date practice.
* Good IT and organisational skills.
* Strong communication abilities with patients and multidisciplinary team.
* Attend the Bowel Cancer Screening Specialist Practitioner course and undertake further training to fulfil SSP requirements.
* Provide immunisation and vaccination report from UK occupational health or GP.
