Training and Progression For a Maintenance Engineer working with our client, you can receive: Comprehensive on-site and external training with strong investment in engineer development Hands-on training across automated material handling systems and robotics Electrical or mechanical upskilling provided depending on bias (true multiskilling encouraged) Clear internal progression routes into Team Leader or supervisory roles What you’ll be doing As a Maintenance Engineer, you will carry out electrical and mechanical maintenance on a wide range of automated material handling systems within a large-scale distribution centre. Your responsibilities will include: Reactive and planned maintenance on conveyors, pallet stacker cranes, wrappers and more automation equipment. Electrical fault finding on inverters, relays, contactors, sensors, switches, and motor drives using a multimeter and electrical drawings. Mechanical work on shafts, bearings, chains, belts, pulleys, sprockets, and drives. Supporting systems controlled by Siemens S7 and safety PLCs (I/O checking advantageous, training available). Working safely at heights and always complying with health & safety legislation. What the client is looking for To succeed as a Maintenance Engineer, you will need: A recognised engineering qualification equivalent to a Level 3 or above (NVQ, City and Guilds, BTEC, ONC, HNC etc.) Confidence working at heights and in customer-facing operational settings. Strong fault-finding skills with a proactive, quality-focused mindset.
