Safety and Reliability Engineer Role : Safety and Reliability Engineer Location & Working Model : Stevenage - Based onsite (typically 3 days per week) to collaborate with the team on site; hybrid working supported when project demands allow. What you’ll be doing: • Apply your safety, reliability and systems engineering skills to support development of sophisticated electronic and mechanical systems from concept through delivery. • Collaborate with engineering teams and military partners to define operating contexts, hazards and failure modes, and build robust safety and reliability cases. • Develop and deliver key evidence such as safety case reports, hazard analyses (FTA, FMECA), reliability predictions and test plans. • Optimize assurance resources by balancing safety/risk and reliability activities with project cost and schedule constraints. • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a highly trusted environment, contributing to projects with international impact and developing your technical expertise further. What we’re looking for: Essential: • Demonstrable experience in safety or reliability engineering, especially in applying hazard analysis, safety evaluation or reliability planning/processes. • Strong foundation in system engineering processes and the interaction of safety and reliability with complex electronics systems. • Excellent analytical skills, clear communication, and ability to influence stakeholders across multi disciplinary teams. Desirable: • Degree (or equivalent) in engineering or related discipline. • Experience working on systems involving complex electronics, demanding environments or military/regulated applications. • Familiarity with balancing technical risk, cost and schedule in system critical programmes.
