An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Outpatients department at Lewes Victoria Hospital for a part-time Band 5 nurse.
To work within the clinical environment of this department, covering a wide range of specialties, including Cardiac, Vascular, ENT, Digestive Diseases, and Eye clinics. To support clinicians in the clinics, assist with minor procedures, and keep up to date with training to ensure you are working to your full potential. To support and educate junior team members and student nurses.
The post holder will work as part of the multidisciplinary team under the supervision and guidance of the Band 7. They will develop effective working relationships with consultants, registrars, junior doctors, nurses, patients, carers, and reception staff.
We welcome applications from those who currently hold a UK NMC registration. If you currently hold an overseas nursing qualification and require sponsorship, we are not currently hiring internationally qualified nurses directly.
The role involves providing high-quality care supporting patients through their outpatient journey, whether attending a clinic appointment or a procedure. The post holder will create a welcoming and safe environment, ensure staff are trained and knowledgeable about their work area, and check stock and equipment to ensure clinics run efficiently.
* Support patients throughout their outpatient journey, providing support and education where appropriate.
* Utilize excellent analytical and judgmental skills to care for patients with various conditions.
* Assist in minor operative procedures, including dermatology procedures.
* Assist in emergency situations according to Trust policy.
* Assess, develop, and help implement patient care plans.
